This fundraising effort is in loving memory of Scout Margaret Jenkins, born sleeping at 17 weeks on 9th July 2023. Scout was a very wanted daughter to Rachel and Tom and sister for Harlow and Dusty. Scout’s Dad, Tom and his good friend Andy have pledged to run 110km from Benalla to Kyabram in the hope to raise $10,000 for Bears of Hope. A HUGE distance that reflects their belief in the charity and gratitude for the services they provide to families in need.

Rachel and Tom found Bears of Hope extremely comforting in their time of need in the hospital as they received a care package to record Scout’s birth details and photos, resources for counselling and their own beautiful bear to hold. This is a service that neither Rachel or Tom had heard about until they were in the position of losing a child, but one that provided invaluable comfort. They would like to help Bears of Hope continue their important work by giving financially and also provide Scout’s name with a beautiful legacy.

Bears of Hope provides counselling, support groups, grief workshops, parent support weekends, community events and crucial resources to help families navigate this heartbreaking time.
