Story
On the 12th September 2025, at 39 weeks + 3 days, our beautiful boy Landon was born sleeping. After a completely healthy, perfect pregnancy and a lifetime of plans made for the little boy we were about to bring home, our world changed forever 🪽
Landon was absolutely perfect. He was the perfect mix of his Mam & Dad, with his daddy’s length & the most gorgeous little dimple. We got to hold, cuddle, kiss and take in every tiny detail of the little boy who had made us Mam and Dad - we just never got anywhere near enough time with him ❤️🩹
No-one expects their child to die, and in the days and months that followed, Bears of Hope became such a huge part of our lives. They support families experiencing pregnancy & infant loss through counselling, support groups, resources, events and connection with other bereaved parents - the kind of support you never imagine you'll need until suddenly you're the family who needs it 🤍
One of the incredible things Bears of Hope also helps provide to hospitals is Cuddle Cots. These allow bereaved parents to spend precious extra time with their baby after they have died - time to hold them, make memories, take photographs, introduce them to family and eventually, say goodbye.
Each Cuddle Cot costs approx $6,500.
So that's our goal.
We want to raise $6,500 to fund a Cuddle Cot in honour of Landon, so that because of our little boy, another family experiencing the unimaginable can be given something absolutely priceless: more time with theirs 🤍
So as Landon's first birthday approaches, we will be running the 10km Beachside Dash on the 13th September in honour of Landon to raise funds for Bears of Hope. Anyone who knows us knows we are gym people, we are most defo not running people - but this past year has taught us that we can do incredibly hard things!
The goal is simply to start together and cross that finish line together, with our son in our hearts every step of those 10km.

Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support is an Australian not-for-profit organisation, providing leading support and exceptional care for families who experience the loss of their baby.
We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
