Story
On the 19th of August we welcomed our daughter Nora into the world sleeping peacefully. Every day in Australia 6 babies are stillborn, so in the month of October I am going to be running 6kms per day for 31 days straight.
I am setting a fundraising goal of $6500 to cover the cost of a cuddle cot (a cooling cot to give families extended time with their stillborn) for any family going through the same experience we have had. Because of a cuddle cot we were able to have much needed time with our daughter and have our families come and meet her.
All funds raised will go to Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support to help ensure no family walks through the loss of their baby alone.
Bears Of Hope connects families with compassionate trauma-informed care empowering them with choices, resources, information and guidance. This includes free counselling, support groups, parent and sibling workshops, parent weekends, timely resources, support events and other invaluable initiatives - offering care, understanding, and connection from the earliest days of grief and beyond.
Your donation, big or small, helps keep these invaluable services free and available to families when they need them most.
All my runs will be tracked on Strava accurately and shared on social media.
